California: Weird

California… it’s such a beautiful place, but so weird. This was from a business trip to San Diego. I stood out on the cliffs overlooking a beautiful stretch of La Jolla coast line shooting these gliders for about 15 minutes. I could see a small scattering of people down on the beach in the distance and was wondering how to get down there. The rock formations were gorgeous and I really wanted to take advantage of some decent light.

I couldn’t find the path, and was about to give up when a guy suddenly came up over the side of the cliff. I said, “Hi, Is there a path down there?” To which he replied, “Yeah, it’s a nude beach.” I turned a shade of crimson and said nervously, “Um, I guess I won’t be taking me camera down there.” and promptly returned to my car.

I’m glad I had my ultrawide lens on and not my telephoto!

Photo of the day: Tucker Brown

Tucker Brown is my 9 year old Sheltie.  Rachel and I have had him since he literally fit in to our palm.  Tucker is the most loyal, loving and intelligent dog a person can ask for.  He’s starting to show his age more lately, and it really saddens me to think about not having him around.  I really hope “Mr. Brown” is with us for many years to come.
