How I use them.
They’re JPEGs. They sit on a photograph, not instead of one.
On a layer
Drop the JPEG above the photograph. In Photoshop that’s a layer. In Lightroom, a JPEG overlay. Same file.
Soft Light, Overlay, Multiply
I start on Soft Light. If I want more of the color, Overlay. Multiply if the shadows should get heavier. Then I pull the opacity down until it feels like it belongs.
Mask what you don’t want
The overlay will sit on faces, a dress, a sky it has no business on. Paint it off. That’s most of the work.
How big
6000 by 4000, 300 dpi. Big enough they don’t tile on a print. Use them smaller if you like.
Client work
Use them in photographs you make, including work you sell. Don’t sell the texture files, and don’t put the raw JPEGs in a pack of your own. The license is short.
If you already paid
The zip is in the email, and in your account if you use the same address. Links last fourteen days. Ask for a new one there if it expired.
Try before you buy
There’s a browser version — Soft Light, Overlay, Multiply, your own photograph if you want. It’s close. The files you buy are the real ones.
